I got gifted with this incredible album around five years ago. It still an overwhelming pleasure and deep emotion to hear everytime since then. Too bad his life graced us and music for too short space of time. He could have been the greatest singer of his generation. He must have. This song... is immense.

I feel in my heart that Jeffs death was a suicide. The music business is a long dark
plastic tunnel filled with thieves, parasites,junkies and murderers. And there's a bad side of it, too. Bless his soul. When I was almost famous my band was preyed upon by creeps and parasites and others filled with jealousy and rage. I lost a brilliant
producer and one of my best childhood friends to heroin. The pressure to generate money is extreme. That's why Kurt Cobain did it, too.

Chills. I started crying three songs into Grace the first time I heard it way back in 1997, before I learned that Jeff was already gone!

I think Jeff was a tourmented soul. From the lyrics and the mood created in his live performance and videos. I think he took his own life in 1997. I am pretty sure I heard he was completely off his face and just walked into the water and never came back.

Actually the autopsy reports state there were no drugs or alcohol present in his system. The eye witness account was that he went swimming as he often did but unfortunately for us, a tugboat went through the river while he was swimming. I believe that he was hurt some how or pulled under by the current and drowned.
